Dr.Sithichoke Tangphatsornruang
Acting Deputy Executive Director, Research and Development Bioscience and Biotechnology for Agriculture
Dr.Sithichoke Tangphatsornruang obtained his Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology from University of Cambridge in 2004.
He started working as a researcher at the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) in 2004.
He became the Head of Genomic Research Lab in 2007, the director of Genome Technology Research Unit in 2016 and the director of National Omics Center in 2019.
Dr.Sithichoke was appointed Deputy Executive Director of BIOTEC in 2024.
His expertise covers Plant Molecular Biology and Genomics. He has employed genome sequencing and genotyping techniques to study comparative genomics, assess population genetic diversity, study gene expression analysis and functional gene mapping. He published more than 150 research articles in scientific journals and set up a service lab in agricultural genomics in order to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
